Business yoga has worked wonders in my life. Professionally I think there’s no other way but the yogic business way…
Following our gut is where it’s at (it’s extremely overlooked in traditional society and very underrated).
We’re taught in school and even in our corporate careers that following our gut is not going to get you anywhere “good” or smart and that it won’t make you money.
However, if you’re clearly tied to a purpose and you’re clear on what your genius zone is and then I think following the gut is exactly where you should be. It’s the only logical next step after you’re clear on that brilliance…on your uniqueness.
And guess what happens when you’re working in your brilliance consistently? You make money gracefully and giddily. You’re more content, day after day (not because of the consistent income you can bring it but for all of it…for that AND for being able to work and live more authentically).
Next time you have that lovin’ feeling…that gut feeling, go with it. Don’t go with the “but” that wants to steer you away from your truth to terror. Enjoy your gut zone and be in the flow.
When things go wrong or don’t go all the way “right”, one of the main things that is going wonky is our belief.
• We can change our thought patterns
• We are as powerful to think negative thoughts as we are to think POSITIVE ones.
• We were meant to DO the things we can think up! (Dreams are not dreams…they are our reality that we haven’t caught up with yet)
• We are not our old stories.
• We can have a magnificent life.
How to do change the belief?
Focus on how you FEEL.
Think it. Think about what you want…I know you’re doing it already. GREAT.
Feel it. Feel how it will be sitting on Oprah’s couch. Literally. Be there.
Believe it. Now believe that feeling you just felt. The more you believe in this feeling…that it can *really* happen, the more that you will almost automatically do the things that will get you that reality.
Feeling is reality. Feeling creates belief.
For those not celebrating this holiday outside the US, may you celebrate the fruits of your labor this weekend.
Enjoy your business, enjoy your life.
Living in LA, I see celebs often. And recently with the launch of my Walking Momtra radio show (soon to debut!), celebrities have been top of mind as I’ve reached out to some to be a part of the show. Just today I had renowned celebrity yogi trainer, Kristin McGee (www.kristinmcgee.com), on to talk about re-invention and happiness on and off the mat. She talked of Tina Fey and it cemented this thought for me…
…those actresses who embody and really believe in the message they’re delivering are wonderful examples of how we can believe in and embody our brands.
When we believe in our vision (our “new story”) we must also fully accept and embrace the lines, moves and action steps that GO with that vision.
And, in order to create the brand we know ourselves to be (in order to LIVE the lives we want to live) we must first start by getting to know this new story intimately.
THIS is exactly the reason we go through the branding process: to do an archaeological dig on ourselves. To un-cover the story. The drive which I also call the “internal audit.” The branding process turns up these fabulous relics we’ve let be buried for way too long. And it all starts with…permission. Then, play, just like the actresses do it.
When we do this we not only find our new story (out with the old) but we find our purpose, our message to the world and how to build a sustainable and authentic BRAND around that message.
Branding is so much more than branding…oh yes, and you’ll un-cover that too.
