Success and legacy (the feelings of) comes from keeping our word, to ourselves.
It’s a theme today in the live streams and blog I’ve created today, so it obviously needs to be shared here, too.
We say we want something — we commit to an idea or a path and then just as soon as we have, someone asks something of us and poof, just like that, we’ve sold out and made someone else’s ask, want, favor or task more important than the commitment we’ve made to stay on course for ourselves and the legacy we want to leave behind.
Borrow the commitment you feel in that area in your life where things are healthy, consistent and growing — pour it into those other areas where your consistency to commit, day in and day out, is struggling.
The following is a note my longtime client, Tanya B. posted yesterday inside one of my private Facebook groups and is a GENIUS example of what happens when we follow-through on the commitments we’ve made to ourselves to build something meaningful in our lives and impact as many people as we can with that work.
Others are important and yes, they need you. But you need you. In fact, you showing up for yourself is how you find the ecstatic energy and space necessary to give to everyone around you.
In simpler words, people pleasing doesn’t grow movements. Your commitment to that movement does…
“Today I got the opportunity to be a guest on a TV show. Drawing on the strength of my new purpose statement, I said a big YES! I had a clearly defined message that needed to come forth. Once I started speaking about health and wellness and women’s health, everything fell away. I stepped into my Wellness Warrior shoes and put on my WW cape and gave. I shared from my heart and it felt so good. Thank you, Michelle, for helping me get back in touch with my message. Can’t wait to see what magic lies ahead.”
Your message, messaging and brand will always be important, but you have nothing without a staunch commitment to self!
Enjoy your business, enjoy your life!
Life is good,
