to Machu Piccchu last year.
About four or five years ago, before my brother and Mom passed, I remember telling Nolan that there were very few things in life we couldn't fix…
We can't fix or turn back time when someone dies, I said, but you can fix a conversation gone wrong in the moment by saying sorry for your part in it, you can sew pants you've ripped while having fun during recess (what sparked our conversation), and you can fix a computer that never woke up from its sleep by buying another one.
Today, Nolie, I have this to add. You're in control of much more:
-
Your current thought. In turn, your mood and the way you treat, instead of beat, yourself up.
-
What you value. In turn, what you authentically pursue, your daily joy.
-
How much you express your love for someone, in writing, through physical touch or through your actions. In turn, you, yourself, feeling those expressions of love.
-
The time you go to bed and wake up in the morning. In turn, your sense of calm, preparedness and life energy.
-
Your minute-to-minute appreciation or gratitude for it all. In turn, feeling pain transform into permission to live and be better everyday and understanding that you can, in fact, love your lessons.
-
Getting to know yourself and being honest with what you find. In turn, true power and comfort in your own skin.
-
Appreciating the things that make you different as strengths, not weaknesses. In turn, introducing you to one of the only things you'll never have to fix: seeing yourself as worthy and whole, just by being, by existing, with or without any titles.
-
How you choose to make money and, as importantly, what you think about that money. In turn, how much more of it comes into your life, easily and effortlessly.
-
The food you eat. In turn, your wealth in health.
-
How you contribute and serve those in need, who may feel they have nothing to give to you, but a look into the heart of humanity. In turn, your connectedness and loving legacy.
- The people you nurture relationships with, and allow into your inner circle. In turn, how fast you grow, evolve and enjoy going after your dreams.
You're in charge of it all, Nolie. It's so big, beautiful, and real, I could cry.
You, my sweet, are the King of your own universe, and these, simply, regal reminders.
Go deep inside and get out there.
Let it rip.
Life is good,
