Diary #7, Wine with Purpose in Israel

Saturday, we visited a winery an hour-and-a-half from Tel Aviv.

We chose it of all the wineries researched for a couple of reasons. Tulip (ode to Nolan’s birthplace, Holland) was founded 14 years ago with the intention of creating something with social value…

They did that by bringing in people with special needs to work all aspects of the winery. Today there are 240 who live on campus and as Elan put it, “the winery would collapse without them.” They’re an integral part of everything we experienced yesterday.

The winery is also part of an area/town whose name means village of hope.

These Ghilotti and Mandel eyes, all six of them, see the world as one big village of it, of hope. That’s what has come from this trip even more…hope.

Speaking of — oh, Israel. Every part of you we’ve experienced and *will* still experience is loving, magical and open-hearted.

Enjoy your business, enjoy your life!

Life is good,
